Rancho Santa Margarita is one of those beautifully master-planned communities in Orange County where everybody wants to live. It lies right between picturesque Mission Viejo and the Saddleback Mountain foothills. Since the beginning, Rancho Santa Margarita (RSM) has offered residents and their guests a balanced lifestyle between commercial and residential. Add to that RSM’s schools, which are award-winning, and the many times that it has been named one of the safest cities in both California and the U.S., and you have one of the most desirable gated communities available anywhere.
The RSM climate has been best d as being Mediterranean in nature. The weather is similar to most of the other Southern California inland coastal locales. Summertime is often hot and wintertime is generally mild or even warm. The temperatures rarely ever fall below freezing in RSM. It’s the perfect place for “snowbirds” and families who are relocating to Southern California to escape the cold.
There are three gated communities in RSM that are quite private and they’re all located in eastern RSM. Those gated communities include:
This is by far the biggest of the gated communities in RSM. It is a very private residential community with a distinct country club feel. The Dove Canyon Country Club offers several different membership levels and the golf course itself is a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course. The overall setting is very natural, quite picturesque and often dotted with deer. It should be noted that memberships are available to non-residents as well. So, no matter where you live in the area, you can have the opportunity to play on this course that has received only the highest acclaim.
As far as the homes in Dove Canyon go, this community offers about 1,200 single-family homes that are decidedly upscale in design and stature. Approximately 5,000 people live in this gated community, and additional amenities abound, including a reservoir, a shopping center, a small children’s park, tennis courts, a swimming pool, a pro shop, clubhouse and, of course, driving range.
There are a number of other RSM communities and they are all just as desirable for finding that perfect home. Check back soon for further info and you could be on your way to enjoying living in Rancho Santa Margarita, too.
